She's an award-winning author/illustrator of 18 children’s books, including her groundbreaking Jewish board book series with RISE x Penguin Workshop, and The Art of Jewish Joy with Chronicle Books. Ultman’s Jewish lifestyle brand, SUZALEH, reflects her passion for creating contemporary Jewish lifestyle products with charming, modern flair.

Suzy's designs and stories are playful yet profound, creating space for nurturing connection, identity, and imagination. With over 100 international product collaborations, and a thriving direct-to-consumer brand, she inspires kids, families, and communities worldwide to discover the joy of creativity. Suzy’s philosophy is simple yet powerful: Make Time for Play.

She grew up in Pennsylvania but her life and work have taken her around the world both as a visitor and a resident. From living in Los Angeles to Portland, across the sea to Amsterdam and back to Boston, Suzy’s exploration and immersion into these places influences her work even today. 

When she isn’t in her studio doodling on Post-Its, writing stories, or tinkering with toys, Suzy can be found bending in yoga class, finding treasures at flea market, and communing with nature. She’s nested with her family in their cozy home in Ohio.
